DIVA
“DIsruptive VHDT Autoplane"
A VERTICAL TAKE-OFF CAR BASED ON AN INNOVATIVE PROPULSION ENGINE CONCEPT.
In the near future, personal car transportation will become limited, not only because of CO2 emissions but also for tremendous urban traffic congestion.
The innovations on traditional car engines will bring benefit only in terms of reducing pollution, leaving open the issue of the high number of circulating vehicles that congest the city centres and major motorway.
Traveling suspended in the air by exploiting the characteristics of an aircraft is a contemporary challenge faced by big stakeholders but collides with the constraints of conventional propulsion engines that are too bulky and especially dangerous.
DIVA is a system based on an innovative VHDT (Vertical High Density Thrust) propulsion concept that will allow you to travel by taking off and landing vertically. It is not a helicopter since it has no large rotors and therefore it is safer in the inhabited areas. Its high-density thrust does not need soil effect like hovercraft. The relatively small diameter engine body will allow its full integration in a typical car bodywork, enabling the development of a new generation of aircraft, that we tag AUTOPLANES.
They will be able to vertically lift-off from the road and travel horizontally safely to the surrounding environment by minimizing not only traffic congestion but also the environmental impact resulting from the construction of concrete, steel and asphalt infrastructures: No more roads, bridges, galleries, etc., etc.
