MANAGEMENT OF RENDEZ VOUS & DOCKING OPERATIONS BETWEEN SATELLITES WITH INTELLIGENT HIGH CAPACITY VISION SYSTEMS.

TORDO consists of a configurable system (mono and/or stereo-vision) of high-performance "space-qualified" cameras with a sophisticated and proven HW / SW electronic system able to accurately process images, identify target objects, and provide all information about the same (distance, speed, relative position, etc.). TORDO is particularly suitable for automatic tracking during the approaching phase and up to the docking to the target. The system electronics communicates to the hosting vehicle control system all the data and information needed to keep the target in the viewfinder and make the necessary maneuvers, such as speed reduction when approaching the object.

TORDO is particularly applicable in space applications both as aid for manned systems and as a primary element for satellites in station keeping phases or debris removal.
